What is Thymalin?
Thymalin is a synthetic nonapeptide derived from calf thymus, consisting of a natural polypeptide complex known as thymulin. It is composed of short active fragments—such as EW, KE, and EDP peptides—that regulate the differentiation, proliferation, and functional activity of immune cells, particularly T-lymphocytes and natural killer (NK) cells. Thymalin is employed in research to explore immune modulation, hematopoiesis, geroprotection, and epigenetic regulatory mechanisms.

Thymalin’s active nonapeptide, thymulin, possesses the sequence Pyr–Ala–Lys–Ser–Gln–Gly–Gly–Ser–Asn–OH, with a molecular weight of 858.9 Da (PubChem CID 3085284).
